Medical Coverage
SJI offers a comprehensive benefit package that includes a suite of medical options from low-cost, high-deductible plans to the highest level of freedom with the Direct Access plan. SJI also offers dental, vision, prescription, and flex spending and health savings plans. Employees may also opt for additional services through these benefit packages, such as mail order prescription and confidential, convenient virtual access to health care providers. In addition, we also offer financial incentives to employees who choose to waive SJI’s medical plan.
Health Advocate
SJI partners with Health Advocate, a national health and patient advocacy company, to provide a broad spectrum of health solutions to meet the needs of our employees. In addition to receiving complimentary assistance on benefit questions, employees can also enroll in an employee assistance program (EAP) and various other wellness activities. These activities also count towards earning points that employees can cash in for gift cards.

SJI understands that a critical part of our employees’ well-being is having the ability to take time to recharge, travel, and spend time with family and friends. SJI offers paid time off with up to 13 additional paid holidays. We also offer flexible scheduling and hybrid work environment options.

Employee Resource Groups
Each of SJI’s Employee Resource Groups focuses on workforce development, community partnerships, employee engagement, and fostering inclusion. Participation and support of the groups’ initiatives contribute significantly to our employees’ personal and professional development. We currently have four Employee Resources Groups that serve to further engage our workforce. These include the American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE-SJ), Emerging Leaders, Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI), and Veteran’s Engagement Team (VETS).
